Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get to A Rent-all Shop?
We are located in Roxboro, NC at 400 South Madison Blvd. (Hwy 501). We are across the street from AutoZone. Complete directions can be found on the Map page.

What are A Rent-all Shop' store hours?
A Rent-all Shop is open 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.  We are closed on Sundays.

Do you deliver?
Yes, delivery is available.  There is a charge based on the particular order and the distance to be traveled.  Your sales associate will be happy to provide you with a quote. Charges are extra and not included in the rental rates.

Can I reserve an Item?
Yes.  Most of the time we will have the equipment you need in stock, however, during peak seasons it helps to reserve "hot items" several days in advance. We are always happy to take your reservations. In general, the best suggestion we have to reserve something as soon as you know you will need it. Availability varies widely by the item, the day of the week, the season, and the weather. No single time is appropriate for everything.

I really need something but you're closed.  What do I do?
In case of an emergency, call our emergency service pager (336-503-0030).  We will attempt to contact an employee to help you.  Please realize that you may be charged a minimum $30.00 after-hours fee.  It could be more depending on the nature of your request.

What do I do if the equipment I'm renting mal-functions or breaks?
The first thing you should do is call A Rent-all Shop to make us aware of the situation.  Depending on the circumstances, we will advise you of the next step.

What is your reservation cancellation policy?
You are welcome to cancel at any time. Telephone notification is greatly appreciated so we may offer the item to another customer as quickly as possible.
How late can I change my order?
You can change your order at any time before the rental starts. If the rental period has begun, and you need to change the equipment or terms, notify us and the contract will be adjusted or recalculated considering all factors involved.

Do I have to wash equipment before I return it?
Construction and homeowner equipment should be returned reasonably clean, if only to protect your vehicle. A Rent-all Shop reserves the right to add a cleaning charge if items are returned excessively soiled.

Can I get an order delivered or picked up late at night, on a Sunday, or a holiday?
Special arrangements can be made ahead of time to accommodate unusual circumstances.  The fee will vary depending on the items and the time.
Do you rent helium?
Yes, we do and we also sell disposable helium tanks.   Because of the many variables involved with helium, you should discuss your application with one of our sales associates.
How do I pay for my rental?
A Rent-all Shop, Inc.  accepts cash, checks, Mastercard, Discover and Visa for payment of rentals.  If you would like us to bill you or your company, it is necessary to first establish a charge account, please ask your sales associate for details. Deposits are accepted in all the forms listed above.
When do I pay?
Payment varies with the particular situation.   While it would be best to discuss your options with your sales associate, generally payment for tool and equipment rentals is made at the end of the rental period, with a deposit required up front. For long term rentals (more than one month) we do expect payments to be made monthly.
Can I get a better price if I rent an item for an extended period of time?
Yes.  Everything we rent is on a rate scale that varies on length of rental.  We recommend you ask for a price quote for your particular rental needs.
What do I need in order to rent?
If you or your company has an established charge account with A Rent-all Shop Inc., we follow the guidelines provided by your company.  For an individual or company that does not have an account with us, we require, at minimum, a valid North Carolina driver's license or equivalent photo ID.  Out-of-state contractors may be required to provide us with a credit card as a security deposit.   Additionally, a deposit will be requested at the time of rental. Please contact one of our sales associates to discuss your particular situation.
Can I return an item when A Rent-all Shop is closed?
The only items which can be returned after hours are trucks, which can be locked securely.  There is no place to safely leave other pieces of equipment. You would be held responsible for any items dropped off after hours and subsequently stolen.
I really like this piece of equipment.   Can I buy it?
Yes, A Rent-all Shop, Inc. is always happy to sell our used equipment.  The price we quote is based on the age and condition of the item. Generally any rental fees due or paid are not applicable to the purchase price. The sooner you notify us of your desire to purchase something, the better the price.
What size table do I need?
A  4' round table seats 6 people comfortably.
A  6' x 30" rectangular table seats 3 people per side plus one at each end (6 - 8 people).
An 8' x 30" rectangular table seat 4 per side plus one at each end (8 - 10 people).
What if something is stolen?
First, file a police report, then provide A Rent-all Shop Inc. with a copy of the report. The customer is responsible for any stolen or missing equipment.
When does my rental time start and stop?
Your rental time starts when the contract is initiated.  Your time stops when the equipment is returned and checked in by your sales associate. For Tent rentals, the time period is more "event" oriented.  We will take your special circumstances into account and charge accordingly. You are responsible for the time the equipment is in your possession including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, not just time used. Most items have 4 hour, day, week and 28 day rates available.

What are your terms?
All rentals are on a cash basis unless a commercial charge account           has been applied for and approved in advance.

Does your equipment have hour meters installed on it?
Many of our larger items are equipped with hour meters and have           rates based on 8 hours usage during a 24 hour day, 40 hours per           week or 160 hours per month. Additional charges will be made if           usage exceeds this.

Is your equipment safe?
Your safety is our #1 concern. We check equipment before and after           every rental to assure all safety features are in proper   working order.           Always wear the appropriate safety gear when using any tools or           equipment (safety glasses, hard hats, gloves, steel toe shoes, etc.).           Never disable backup alarms, safety shields or other safety features           on equipment or tools. A Rent-all Shop, Inc. is not responsible for           any accident or injury while equipment is in the renter's possession.

Do I have to pay the Damage Waiver charge?
Damage waiver is required on all rentals with the only exception           being when the customer has specific insurance coverage for the           rental equipment and has provided us with a
"Certificate of Insurance" in advance. Damage waiver will cover           accidental damage that may occur while the equipment is being           rented.
Damage waiver does not cover misuse, abuse, tires, fire           or theft.

Who is responsible for tire damage?
The customer will be responsible for all tire damage or flats. Normal          wear will be the responsibility of A Rent-all Shop, Inc.. We do not offer           in-house tire service, but we can assist you in obtaining service.

MAINTENANCE

Some things you should know about..........

OIL LEVELS
Maintenance of proper oil level in rented equipment is solely the           responsibility of the customer. The customer also has the

responsibility to grease all grease fittings on machinery daily.

FUELS
It is the responsibility of the customer to provide all fuel for the

equipment. Some equipment requires mixed 2 cycle fuel and this
          MUST be used.

UNUSUAL WEAR OR DAMAGE
All equipment will be examined upon return. The customer will be

charged for any unusual wear or damage at a shop labor rate of $50
          per hour, plus parts.

How soon do I have to place my order?
The sooner the better. For tents and large scale events you should be thinking of one or two months in advance or even earlier if you can. For small orders, usually a week or two is sufficient.

Is there a delivery charge?
Yes, there is a delivery charge.  The delivery charge does not include set up and break down of the rented items.  Rental Items will be dropped off to the nearest and convenient ground level or loading dock.  Please call for rates on special situations.  Our drivers are instructed to stack rentals in a mutually convenient place and should be ready for pickup the same way.

What about delivery and pickup after-hours, weekends and holidays?
Yes, this service is available for an additional fee and provided we have advance notice. Some restrictions apply so please call for details.

Can you deliver without my being there?
Yes, provided that we can leave equipment in a garage or a covered porch and you have already signed and faxed back a rental contract to our office. Commercial locales require receipted delivery by a dock master or authorized person.

Will your delivery driver carry tables & other rentals into my house, downstairs etc.?
No, we cannot do this for insurance and liability reasons. Our delivery personal will stack them in a mutually convenient location and pickup them up from the same point. Most often this would be your back yard or front door. Anything beyond that is your responsibility.

Do you set up the tables and chairs?
This service can be provided for an extra fee depending on the scope of what is required. Please call our office for information.

Do I have to wash the linen?
No. They will be laundered anyway so just shake it out to remove any debris. Don't pack them in a plastic bag if they are wet because they *will* mildew over the course of a weekend. If any linen or skirting is damaged, burned or gets mildewed you will be responsible for the replacement cost of that item.

What about losses?
Breakage, missing or weather damaged items are charged at retail replacement value. A damage waiver fee of 8 % is available for tools and equipment excluding dishware, glassware and flatware. Please call our office for details concerning your specific rental order.

Do I have to wash the dishware, glassware, flatware?
No, but rinsing and/or scraping them free of food and debris is required. Cleaning charges will apply if the items are not returned in a reasonably sanitary condition. Some items may require a cleaning deposit (such as stock pots or chafer dish inserts)

I've got a price from a competitor and its lower, will you match it?
Yes as long as it is reasonable in nature and the products you're comparing are the same. The truth is that's usually not the case and especially for commercial or large scale productions you should know what your suppliers track record is. Not everyone has done what we have over the last 20 years or has the design knowledge and experience to complete your event needs and execute them in a safe and professional manner. If prices are significantly different there's usually a reason. Ask why before you compare on price alone.
